Signing of a contract for the construction of a bus depot and a hydrogen refueling station for MZK in Konin

On 16 September 2025, at the Zemełka House in Konin, an agreement was signed between the Municipal Transport Company in Konin Sp. z o.o. and the consortium of TORPOL S.A. and TORPOL Oil & Gas Sp. z o.o. The subject of the contract is the construction of a modern bus depot building and a hydrogen production and refueling station.

The contract scope includes the development of design documentation and the construction of a comprehensive bus depot with a workshop and office building, a car wash, and space for zero-emission rolling stock. The agreement includes the installation of lighting and monitoring systems, as well as water and sewage, electrical, telecommunications, ventilation, and heating networks. An integral element of the investment will be a hydrogen production, storage, and refueling station for the client’s needs.

TORPOL S.A. is responsible for the construction and infrastructure part of the project, while TORPOL Oil & Gas will implement a range of installations related to the production, storage and distribution of hydrogen.

  • Following the strategy we are striving to diversify our operations by securing contracts in the industry of hydrogen technology, – commented Krzysztof Drzewiecki, Vice-President of the Management Board for Production at TORPOL S.A. – Harnessing synergies within our capital group is crucial to the success of this investment, and the experience of TORPOL Oil & Gas, a company specializing in hydrogen infrastructure, will allow us to effectively and timely implement the project.

The contract value is approximately PLN 115.3 million gross, and completion of the project is scheduled for the end of November 2027.

Due to the construction of a new depot and hydrogen refueling station, the Municipal Transport Authority in Konin will gain modern facilities for servicing hydrogen and electric rolling stock, significantly contributing to the development of zero-emission public transport in the city. Furthermore, the new depot will improve the comfort and safety of workshop employees, rolling stock drivers, and other facility users.

The implementation of such projects also underscores our commitment to promoting eco-friendly transport and contributes to the pursuit of climate neutrality, which is one of the elements of the TORPOL Group’s ESG strategy.
