Contract for a line connecting Police railroad station to Police Seaport signed

On 30 June, an agreement was signed at the premises of Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne “Police” S.A. to perform the public order of extending the railroad infrastructure of railroad line No. 406 and constructing the “Police Port” railroad junction/ siding, together with the necessary technical infrastructure, as part of the construction of railroad line No. 437 to the Police Sea Port carried out under the project entitled: “Establishment of railroad access to the Police Sea Port”. The value of the contract is about PLN 201.6 million gross (about PLN 163.9 million net).

The project includes the partial extension of the Station in Police located on railroad line No. 406 and the construction of a new single-track railroad line No. 437 Police – Police Sea Port together with a siding “ Station Port in Police”. Due to the implementation of the project, a long-awaited direct rail link to the port will be established, which will enable more efficient transport of raw materials and increase the number of freight depots served.

As part of the project, about 9 km of track and 20 turnouts will be built, along with overhead catenary. State-of-the-art traffic control equipment will be built, and control will be carried out from a newly constructed control room. As part of the work, a road overpass will be built at the intersection of the new railroad and Jasienicka Street, which is located on provincial road No. 114. The scope of work also includes the reconstruction of underground utility networks (power, telecommunications, sanitary, water and sewage networks).

Due to the project’s location and complex soil and water conditions, it will be required to reinforce the area by building up about 270,000 running meters of gravel and concrete columns.

Meanwhile, in order to maintain the continuity of animal migration routes under the railroad line, two amphibian crossings will also be constructed.

We are well prepared to carry out this type of investment, the president of TORPOL S.A. Konrad Tuliński commented on the signing of the contract. – In recent years we have been responsible, among others, for the modernization of rail access to ports in Gdansk, Szczecin and Swinoujscie, thanks to which we have gained extensive experience in cooperation with port authorities, i.e. ordering parties outside PKP PLK. We highly value this cooperation and look forward to the efficient implementation of the key contract for the Port of Police – Tuliński concluded.

The value of the concluded contract is about PLN 201.6 million gross (about PLN 163.9 million net), and the execution period is 31 months from the date of the agreement. The joint investors are PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. and Zarząd Morskiego Portu Police Sp. z o.o.
