New acquisition of the Power and Automation Division of TORPOL S.A.

During the TRAKO International Railway Fair held in Gdańsk from September 23-26, 2025, company representatives took delivery of a new ATLAS TW180WSR two-way wheeled excavator with a passenger platform, adapted for operation on both railway and tram tracks. The machine will join the ranks of specialized equipment used for network works.

These machines are equipped with a highly stable and durable, permanently mounted rail system and a quick-change gauge system for narrow, standard, and tram tracks. Their compact design and short counterweight make them suitable for almost any application. The excavator is designed to operate within railway gauges, with very high lifting capacities of up to 10 tons.

The specially designed chassis provides high stability through the possibility of locking the tilt on bridges and additional locking of the entire chassis on cylinders, while allowing for greater lifting capacities than a standard machine on a railway chassis.

All functions are operated simply and intuitively via a single display. The screen displays, among other things, the current status of the drive system, load capacity monitoring, and a camera view. The integrated internet module enables remote access for servicing and software updates.

  • We are systematically expanding our production capacity – commented Krzysztof Drzewiecki, the Vice President of Production at TORPOL S.A. – In the first half of this year, we have implemented investment expenditures exceeding PLN 13.6 million, which includes the purchase of this machine. Of the nearly PLN 62 million earmarked for investments in 2025, half of them are spent on machinery development, focusing primarily on track and catenary work. Due to this strategy, we are able to carry out a wide range of projects based on our own equipment, while offering competitive prices in tenders –  summarized Vice President Drzewiecki.
