Torpol Oil & Gas signs a PLN 75 million net contract with ORLEN for the construction of a hydrogen hub in Szczecin

Torpol Oil & Gas Sp. z o.o., a company belonging to the TORPOL Capital Group, has signed a PLN 75 million net contract with ORLEN S.A. for the implementation of the investment entitled “Construction of a hydrogen production facility, HUB Szczecin.” The project will be carried out using the EPC formula and will include comprehensive turnkey implementation of the installation.

The contract covers the construction of a hydrogen production facility, including an electrolyzer, hydrogen storage facilities, and the necessary infrastructure for hydrogen loading. The planned capacity of the facility will be approximately 5 MW, and its output will reach at least 90 kg of hydrogen per hour.

The investment is consistent with the development of hydrogen infrastructure in Poland and initiatives related to the energy transition, the decarbonization of transport and industry, and the development of new executive competencies in the field of modern energy technologies.

For Torpol Oil & Gas, participation in the HUB Szczecin project is another hydrogen contract, confirming the company’s consistent growth in this market segment. At the same time, the project demonstrates the TORPOL Capital Group’s strategy of diversifying revenue streams, encompassing the development of operations beyond the core rail infrastructure segment. Torpol Oil & Gas already has experience in implementing hydrogen projects. The company participated in the construction of the Power to Gas hydrogen installation in Odolanów, among other projects, and is currently also building a hydrogen production, storage, and distribution facility for the MZK Konin public transport operator.

Signing the agreement with ORLEN S.A. is a crucial step for Torpol Oil & Gas in further developing its expertise in modern energy infrastructure. The HUB Szczecin project confirms that our experience in implementing advanced technical investments is also applicable to the hydrogen sector, which will be a key element of Poland’s energy transition. We are consistently developing our operations in segments that complement our core executive competencies and enable us to build the company’s long-term value,” says Cezary Pokrzywniak, President of the Management Board of Torpol Oil & Gas Sp. z o.o.

At the end of 2025, Torpol Oil & Gas’s order book totaled PLN 112.1 million net. Since its inception, the company has continuously expanded its operations in the energy sector, with its dominant and planned development areas remaining the power and gas sectors, the chemical and refining industries, hydrogen, biogas, and biomethane projects, and waste thermal treatment plants. Torpol Oil & Gas provides services primarily to the ORLEN Group, the AZOTY Group, and Operator Gazociągów Przesyłowych GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. [Gas Transmission Operator].
