Signing of the contract for the reconstruction of a tram line in Łódź

At the head-office of Zarząd Inwestycji Miejskich w Łodzi [the Municipal Investment Authority in Łódź] today, the Investor’s representatives and TORPOL S.A. signed a contract for the implementation of the project ‘The extension of the tram line in Wojska Polskiego Street, section between Franciszkańska and Strykowska Streets, together with the expansion of the road system and the reconstruction of the necessary infrastructure and construction of a tram connection along ul. Strykowska with the ŁKA Łódź-Marysin stop, together with the reconstruction of water supply lines in Wojska Polskiego Street and in the intersections included in the extension of the road system in Wojska Polskiego street, section from Franciszkańska street to Strykowska street, together with the reconstruction of the road system and the necessary infrastructure’.

The subject of the concluded contract is the implementation of two projects. The first one is the reconstruction of the tram line in Wojska Polskiego Street, section from Franciszkańska Street to Strykowska Street, together with reconstruction of the road system and the necessary infrastructure, as well as the construction of a P&R car park in Zmienna Street. Within the scope of this activity, the Investor also allows for the possibility of awarding an order based on the right of option consisting in the preparation of project documentation compliant with the functional-utility programme, including all opinions and agreements, and performing construction works based on this documentation, which include redevelopment of the track system in Strykowska Street to the extent enabling the operation of dedicated tram lines. The second task concerns the reconstruction of water supply lines and their connections in Wojska Polskiego Street on the section from Młynarska Street to Grzegorz Palka Avenue and in the intersections included in the reconstruction of the road system.

– The winning of a tram contract is an element of the diversification of the company’s order portfolio – commented the President of TORPOL S.A. Grzegorz Grabowski. – We are currently participating in several tender procedures, including tramway tenders. Having appropriate engineering staff and equipment facilities, as well as experience gained both in Poland and in Norway, we are counting on winning further such projects in the nearest future.

The remuneration of TORPOL S.A. for the execution of the concluded contract amounts to approximately PLN 133.6 million gross (i.e. approximately PLN 108.6 million excl. VAT), including remuneration for the execution of the basic scope amounting to PLN 130.4 million gross (i.e. approximately PLN 106 million excl. VAT). The completion date for the entire investment is scheduled for the end of May 2023.
