Signing of the contract for works on the Olsztyn Główny railway station

Today, at the Olsztyn Główny railway station, representatives of the Investor and TORPOL S.A. signed a contract for the execution of construction works for the public order under the name Modernisation of the track-platform system and railway infrastructure at the Olsztyn Główny station as part of the project “Works on the railway line No. 216 at Działdowo – Olsztyn section”.

The subject of the concluded contract is the execution of construction works of approx. 30 km of tracks, 116 turnouts. Also, the catenary network and railway traffic control devices will be modernized and replaced. At the Olsztyn Główny station, all four platforms will be raised and widened, which will give passengers more comfortable access to trains. New benches will be installed, and timetable information will be presented on displays in information booths and via a new sound system. A new 140-metre tunnel will also be built under the tracks to Zatorze. On the other hand, passengers will get to Zientara-Malewska Streets using stairs and a lift. The platforms and the tunnel will be connected by both escalators and lifts.

Reconstruction of the Olsztyn Główny station is the next stage under the project “Works on railway line No. 216 on the section Działdowo – Olsztyn”, for which TORPOL S.A. was also the contractor.

The value of the signed contract is PLN 382.1 million net, and the project is co-financed in the amount of PLN 126.8 million from the funds of the European Union under the Operational Program East Poland. Construction works are planned for 30 months from the date of signing the agreement and will be completed in 2024.
