TORPOL S.A. is currently performing a contract in Ostróda for the design and execution of works for the task entitled: “Implementation of an investment project involving the modernisation of the Ostróda station along with other works in the railway traffic control sector on the section Iława Główna – Olsztyn Główny” within the project entitled “Modernisation projects for line infrastructure managed by PKP PLK”. Modernisation projects for line infrastructure managed by PKP PLK, together with the transfer of controlling of Rudzienice Suskie, Stare Jabłonki, Samborowo, Biesal and Naterki stations to Ostróda station” within the project entitled: “Digitalisation of railway infrastructure through the installation of modern equipment and systems”. The value of the works according to the contract agreement is approximately PLN 312.6 million gross (i.e. approximately PLN 254.15 million net), and the task completion time was set at 36 months from the conclusion of the agreement.

Within the scope of the public order, the Company will design and perform comprehensive modernisation of the Ostróda railway station involving reconstruction of the entire railway infrastructure, including 3 platforms, 10.5 km of tracks with catenary network, 25 turnouts and a subway which will be extended to Słowackiego Street. As part of the investment, a local railway control centre and a new signal box will be built, and the structure of the historic bridge over the Drwęca River will be rebuilt and strengthened. Once completed, the Ostróda station will be adapted to the needs of all passengers, including those with limited mobility, and to better serve 750-metre-long goods trains.

The scope of works under the contract also includes the design and execution of modernisation of railway traffic control devices, radio communication, lighting, and also equipment of platforms with dynamic traveller information systems at Rudzienice Suskie, Sambrowo, Ostróda, Stare Jabłonki and Biesal stations, as well as at Pikus, Lubajny and Unieszewo passenger stops. The security and lighting systems at 9 crossings will also be upgraded.
