TORPOL S.A., as the consortium leader, completed the project entitled “Demolition, reconstruction, expansion, and construction of the railway line No. 104 Chabówka – Nowy Sącz, section E, as part of the project: “Construction of the New Podłęże – Szczyrzyc – Tymbark / Mszana Dolna Railway Line and Modernization of the Existing Railway Line No. 104 Chabówka – Nowy Sącz.” The project included the design and execution of comprehensive construction works on the railway infrastructure, starting with the track system with subgrade, track-related works, and drainage, through the overhead lines, LNP (Light Railway Line), and telecommunications, and ending with the road system and engineering structures. Among other things, the tracks were replaced along a 12.6 km section, a new railway bridge was built over the Dunajec River, and grade-separated road intersections and pedestrian underpasses were constructed in Nowy Sącz. The Nowy Sącz Chełmiec and Nowy Sącz Miasto stops were also modernized, and a new station with an underpass was built in Marcinkowice. The infrastructure was adapted to the needs of people with limited mobility and freight transport.
Railroad crossings, along with the road sections they cover, were also constructed and modernized. Thanks to the project, rail traffic was restored after 20 years, and residents of towns located near the railway line gained improved transport access.
